Hunger Chapter Five:
Typical Hungry Day;
Generous Offer of Food

homelessness and hunger

5:45 p.m. So far today I have eaten a few “servings” of roasted almonds. I fasted in the morning, had the first almonds mid-day, and a few more now and then after that.

So when an angel offered me potato salad, I accepted. “Macaroni has gluten, but not potato,” I answered her inquiry about my food limitations. “Usually there is something in the mayonnaise that causes problems, but at the moment, I’m too hungry to care,” I said, putting an arm around her shoulder.

Like the BBQ chicken wings, I taste vinegar. And mayonnaise often also has corn syrup, which makes me hurt all over. Please, god, let me get away with it this time.

My stomach is no longer hungry. Thank you, angel.

My skirts and pants are falling off my hips. Weight loss and the tan are great benefits of this lifestyle!
