Thursday is Food Bank morning and I picked up zucchini and Roma tomatoes. Returning to the campsite before going into the city, I cooked them up. My body felt great having vegetables again. That’s my cocoa jar on the left. I make up cocoa when I cook and save it for later.
Winds are often strong and gusty here. When I started cooking with the single propane burner, I found that putting the burner inside the large plastic bin was a good solution — as long as I leveled it and paid very close attention to the pan or pot’s stability.
Tonight the bin walls were not enough of a wind shield. I found that perching the lid on a corner, weighted with about a half gallon or less of water, worked great.
